The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), through its Negosyo Center (NC) Zarraga, in partnership with the Zarraga Local Government (LGU), officially launched the Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (NSB) Program at Barangay Jalaud Norte, Zarraga, Iloilo. This event will kick-off the succeeding NSB launching in other identified towns in the Province of Iloilo.

Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay Program intends to maximize the potential of barangays within 4th income class, such as the Municipality of Zarraga, to 6th income class municipalities to become economically independent and make them more effective partners in the attainment of national goals.

Vice Mayor  Ma. Jofel M. Soldevilla gave her opening message on behalf of Municipal Mayor John H. Tarrosa. Assistant Regional Director and the Concurrent Provincial Director of DTI Iloilo Ermelinda P. Pollentes served as the Keynote Speaker in the event.

DTI Programs and Services were discussed by Mutya D. Eusores , the Senior Trade & Industry Development Specialist of the Industry Development Division of DTI Iloilo, and Ma. Dorita D. Chavez, the Senior Trade & Industry Development Specialist of the Consumer Protection Division of DTI Iloilo.

Partner agencies from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority  (TESDA) through its Supervising Technical Education & Skills Development Specialists Ma Ofelia L. Dela Cruz and Agnes Dimzon,  as well as Small Business Corporation through its Junior P3 Provincial Coordinator Wilfe B. Jimoga-on also presented  in the event.

The Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay launching program was also participated by micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) owners and barangay officials of the barangays Jalaud Norte, Jalaud Sur, Balud I, and Balud II of the Municipality of Zarraga, Iloilo.
